From Zero to Hero ($75)

Ready to take the plunge and become an indie author? I've been there, done that, and learned a lot along the way. During this 1 to 1.5 hour call, I'll give you a path to follow.

The call will cover:
  • Finding the right categories and keywords for your book. (I'll do a bit of research and give you a recommendation for the 2 best categories and 7 best keywords).
  • Making sure your book description is right. (I'll also format the description with Amazon's markup language).
  • How to price your book.
  • Where to go to get editorial and reader reviews.
  • Where to go to promote your book--and the best time to do it.
  • And, last but not least, the best time to publish your book.

I'll also provide unlimited email support, so you know that support is always just a quick email away when you are ready to publish your book.

KDP+Draft2Digital Setup ($150)

Let's be honest: publishing your book on Amazon is not very difficult. But some people still want a little more handholding. If that sounds like you, I'm happy to walk you through it. We can do a screen share through Zoom or a phone call--whatever you are comfortable with. I'll stay with you through each step and make sure you've done everything correctly.​

Google Play Setup ($50)

The Google Play store is an excellent place for authors with international readers. Unfortunately, most distributors don't publish on the Google Play store. That means if you want to publish there, you'll have to set up an account and work with Google directly. I'll walk you through how.

IngramSpark Setup ($200)

If your goal is getting into bookstores, then one of the best options for you is IngramSpark. IngramSpark will get you into a wide network of physical bookstores (this doesn't mean your book will necessarily be sold in the store, but the bookseller will have the option to order a copy). Unfortunately, IngramSpark's interface is not quite as user-friendly as other distributors. This call will help you navigate their website and point out some of the differences in how they report sales.

Note: this plan does not include Ingram's title setup fees. This plan includes the "From Zero to Hero" plan.

Cover Design ($50 for digital; $50 for print; $75 for both)

A picture is worth a thousand words. That's especially true with books. The cover is the first thing a reader sees; it's what convinces them to crack that spine and read a sample. Having an eye-catching cover doesn't have to break the bank, however. Using a combination of stock images and typography, you can have a cover that gets readers to notice your book without spending a fortune on hiring an illustrator. See examples below for an idea of what I can do for you.

Interior Book Design (Starting at $150)

Amazon, and most other book distributors, give you the option of uploading a Word file. It sounds great on paper. But simply uploading a Word file of your book doesn't give it the best look--not to mention the structure of the book is not always eBook friendly. I can deliver an ePub and print-ready copy of your book (see an example below).

Most books will cost $150, but before giving you a quote, I would need to see your file to see how complex your book's structure is.

Amazon Marketing Services Setup ($300)

Amazon Marketing Services (or AMS) is Amazon's marketing platform that lets you jump higher in search results and sell more books. It's simple to set up but tricky to do well. I can walk you through the ropes, help you understand the platform, and give you tips to make sure you are earning back what you are spending. This plan also includes walking you through your first campaign setup (including keywords).
